Artist's Profile

Watercolors have been my passion for decade. I have mostly made
interpretive paintings of flowers. I also paint portrait of people’s home
from photographs.

I was born in India and had training in fine arts in India and have taken
many art workshops in the US over the years. I have enjoyed experimenting with
other media too, like batik on fabric, clay modeling and stain glass. Lately
I have also enjoyed painting with acrylic. It works very differently than
watercolor.

I had a solo show of my watercolors at Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi in
2006 entitled “Festival of Flowers." I also had a solo shows at Jordan Hall
Arts Center, Cary in 2004 and Cary Town Hall in 2007. During the last 30 years
I had several group and solo exhibitions of my work in Iowa, Indiana and the
NC Triangle area.

I was a member of the Iowa Artists and Iowa Watercolor Society for nearly
30 years. I received Richard Heggen award at 2001 Iowa Artists State Show.
I am now active in the fine arts arena of the Triangle area since 2002 and
have memebrship of many art organizations.
